How do I join? And what should I expect?

Any adult (18+ years) can join at any time, everyone is welcome and you do not need to be a member of New Day Community Church to join my class; it is open to the public! If it is your fist time taking a Zumba class, or even your first time coming to my class, by all means, come a little early and introduce yourself, I'd love to meet you. I hold class in the basement, where we all have plenty of room (and no mirrors!). My class is 60 minutes long and includes warm-up songs in the beginning, followed by a series of high and low intensity songs, with a cool-down song and short stretching period at the end. During class, I use a combination of verbal and non-verbal cuing to direct the class and I will break down the steps of more complicated songs. Please know that if you are brand new to Zumba you may find that your first class feels frustrating or awkward, but participants learn through repetition and after a few classes, the steps will come much more easily. My class is very beginner-friendly, I repeat songs frequently and introduce new material a few times a month.

What should I bring to class?  And what should I wear?

  • Plenty of fluids for proper hydration
  • Comfortable athletic footwear
  • Comfortable clothing that will move with you and keep you cool as you sweat
  • Towel (optional, but you might be glad you have it)
  • Hair tie or head wrap if you have long hair

How much is a class?
Regular Rates - January to May & September to December
Drop in rate: $6
Five-punch cards: $25 **Cards expire seven weeks from date of purchase**

Seasonal Rates - June to August
Drop in rate: $7
Basic Sessions - Attendees can choose one or both sessions depending on what best fits their schedule/budget. Session 1 is $25 for the following five weeks: 6-6, 6-13, 6-20, 6-27, 7-11 (7-4 is excluded due to observance of July Fourth);  Session 2 is $30 for the following six weeks: 7-18, 7-25, 8-1, 8-8, 8-15, 8-22 (8-29 is excluded due to school restarting) The total for the summer is $55. This can be made in a single payment, or in two. Pre-paying for five weeks or more entitles you to two free guest passes.
Build your own session - I realize that summer is a time of vacationing and/or odd work hours for some, so if you are hesitating to commit to sessions 1 and/or 2 because there are dates you know already that you will be unable to attend, you can create a session for yourself out of the dates you know WILL work for you. You simply need to provide me with the specific dates that you will be attending class. $15/3-week minimum.  Pre-paying for three or four weeks entitles you to one free guest pass

Check or cash only, please. No Credit cards. Exact change required!
